Nyiregyhaza Looks Forward to the Stars of the Game
2004. 01. 12. 19:01:41
In nine days, the Bujtosi Sports Centre in Nyiregyhaza will host the first round matches of the main phase in the Group “C” of this year’s edition of the women’s Indesit European Champions League. The four time Hungarian Champion Titasz-NRK-Nyiregyhaza will face two giants of the game on back-to-back days. The legendary Uralochka from Ekaterinburg enters the court on Wednesday and the world class team of Marichal Tenerife plays against the hosts on Thursday.
“It is clear for everybody, who knows even a little bit of the international volleyball scene, that we have no realistic chance against these two teams. Still, we will try to give our best and make the life of the stars as difficult as we can. Our goal is to entertain our spectators and play good volleyball. It will be an honour for all of us to face these great players and coaches.” – told Zsolt Ludvig, Head-coach of Nyiregyhaza during the press conference today.
Titasz-NRK-Nyiregyhaza had a very successful Indesit European Champions League campaign last year, when they failed to reach the quarter-final stage of the competition by the narrowest margin against Burgos (Spain) and played a tough five-setter against Foppapedretti Bergamo from Italy.

Setback for Schlegl
2003. 07. 14. 17:01:33
Katalin Schlegl and Anna Grozer will have to sit out the Beach Volleyball World Tour Grand Slam tournament in Marseille due to Grozer’s injury. Schlegl played with Krisztina Nagy throughout last season and the pair established itself as the number one Hungarian team on the World Tour. It came as a big surprise for Schlegl earlier this year, when she read in the daily sports newspaper, that Nagy teamed up with another partner. As a result she had to look for a new companion and opted for the routine of Grozer. Although, the new partnership has not turned out as a big success. Schlegl and Grozer had their best tournament in Retminon, where they finished 19th. It is very probable, that the two will split up and continue the season with new partners.
